GEO is a joint initiative that began in 2013 by students gathered at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana during the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Initiative. At its onset, the project sought out to guide those who want to contribute to the improvement of society through an initiative called Global Education Online, or, GEO. We are grateful to the Benjamin Franklin Initiative and its staff at Purdue University who have been instrumental in helping to forge intercontinental relationships between young people in Asia, Europe, and North America.
The project has evolved into the creation of the Global Educational Organization-GEO, a non-profit organization registered in Spain that was born out of the idea of creating an open community of international volunteers who are focused on education and culture.
The organization aims to have a social impact by intensive use of technology through the use of the GEO-PROJECT platform.
